It is made of stone, perhaps built in the Carolingian era. The doubt comes from the fact that two illustrious scholars believe that the famous sarcophagus is not from that era but is a drinking trough of the XIX century. It is in the area in front of the library, and is called "Cixate". The root would be the same as that of the name "Caesar" (Caesar), while the suffix "ate" would have ablative and locative value. Others say that the name Cesate comes from "caesa", "cut wood".
